State BJP president and Amberpet MLA G. Kishan Reddy is embarking on a Telangana Poru Yatra starting 19th Jan.
The Yatra commences on the banks of river Krishna in Maktal Mandal and concludes on the banks of river Godavari in Bhadrachalam. The yatra will cover 986 villages, 171 mandals 36 municipalities of 10 districts of Telangana.
In a statement issued today, Kishan Reddy said that he is undertaking this yatra ‘With a view to rebuild pressure on the UPA government and make the government introduce the Telangna Bill in the Budget Session in February’.
As the only national party which can deliver Telangana, BJP has a clear advantage over other political parties in the state. And BJP leadership is doing the right thing by being a part of the Telangana political JAC.
The BJP state leadership is taking active part in the ongoing statehood movement and is also roping in their national leadership like Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj.
Leader of the opposition and BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj has emerged as the champion of the Telangana cause. On several occasions, she spoke at length about the Telangana movement in Lok Sabha. She has also toured Telangana region extensively in the last two years and addressed public meetings in Karimnagar and Nalgonda.
