KCR Vows to Strive for Development of Warangal City

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said his government was putting in all round-efforts for the development of Warangal city, which is the second biggest city in Telangana, under the banner of ‘Plan Your City’ programme.

He pointed out that the city’s population would reach 20 lakh in a short period of time as it was all set to become a textile hub.

Addressing a press conference before winding up his four-day tour to Warangal here on Sunday, KCR said the government was planning modern markets for vegetable, fruit, meat and fish in the city besides playgrounds and parks.

He also said the government was planning to bring nearly 10 lakh acres under cultivation in Warangal district. The state government would also put in its best efforts to get water from the Krishna river in addition to the Godavari, he added. Emphasising the need for the expansion of roads in the city, he said the roads including Hunter Road, Waddepally and Peddammagutta, Circuit Guest House Road will be expanded soon. The city would get multi-layer flyovers too, he added.

The CM further said the Central jail located in the heart of the city would be shifted to the outskirts and modern buildings for Health University and upgradation of MGM Hospital would be constructed. Speaking on fee reimbursement row, he said students need not worry about the fees as the government would soon clear the pending arrears.
