Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed medical staff not to leave even a single child in the state without providing polio vaccination.
He launched the pulse polio immunisation programme at his camp office here on Sunday by administering polio drops to a few children.
“Even after the programme concludes on Sunday, medical staff should visit every doorstep on Monday to find out whether any child is left behind without being administered polio drops,” he ordered officials after launching the programme.
Deputy chief minister T Rajaiah, principal secretary (medical and health) Suresh Chanda and GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar also participated in the programme.
