Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao approved the creation of 233 supernumerary posts for teachers belonging to seven mandals of Andhra Pradesh that are getting submerged due to Polavaram Project and allot them to Khammam district. As per the Hon’ble CM’s instructions, a proposal to this effect was submitted by Commissioner of Tribal Welfare.
Out of 477 employees working in the mandals affected by the submergence, 304 employees (teaching and non-teaching) opted to shift to Khammam district but there are not enough posts under relevant category to accommodate. Hence the creation of supernumerary posts became necessary. Earlier, Khammam district Collector in his letter to Tribal Welfare Commissioner mentioned about the additional requirement and requested creation of 233 new posts.
