The much touted “Samaikya Shankhaaraavam” sabha by YSRCP ended as a dampsquib. As thousands of people, who were ferried to Hyderabad by YSRCP leaders, evinced more interest in visiting tourist attractions in the city, than attending the meeting.
Places such as Tank Bund, Lumbini Park, NTR Gardens registered dramatic increase in visitors yesterday. Even wines shops around the venue made brisk business through out the day.
YSR Congress party engaged over a dozen special trains and also about 500 buses to bring people from 13 Seemandhra districts to the meeting. But, in the end, the meeting turned out more like a condolence meeting to Andhra Pradesh.
Only Seemandhra leaders dominated the dias. None of their speeches could provide any assurance that the state would remain united. All the leaders concentrated more on scoring points over Congress and TDP parties. The actual purpose of the meeting was more clear with YS Jagan’s speech. After boring the audience with repeated words like “Adagadalchukunna“, Jagan finally blurted out the real goal that YSRCP wants to achieve through this meeting – winning 30 MP seats.
While there is nothing wrong in having such lofty ambitions, YS Jagan seems to forget that there are only 25 MP seats in his home state – Seemandhra!
