Announcing the details of this global event, Nasscom president R Chandrashekhar said the event was being held for the first time in the country. IT minister KT Rama Rao said that WCIT is held every two years and this was the first time that the country was hosting the event and that too in Hyderabad. “A team from Telangana government will visit WCIT-2016 to be held in Brazil next year to study the event,” Rama Rao said.

He also stated that chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and other ministers would personally invite some of the American technology company heads during his likely visit to the US. The state government will hand over a cheque for $ 1 million towards the conduct of the event as required, soon.

“Telangana is a start-up state and it needs all the encouragement and blessings of Nasscom and other industry leaders to take steps that lead to a successful journey. We thank Nasscom for choosing Hyderabad as the venue of the event,’’ the minister said.
