Hyderabad, the happening city’ will host a three-day South India Hotels & Restaurants’ Association (SIHRA) Convention-2015 between July 2 and 4 with the theme of the convention being ‘Redefining Hospital and Monetizing Tourism’.
While speaking to the media after releasing a SIHRA Convention – 2015 brochure in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Mr. Syama Raju, the president of SIHRA, said that a convention of such nature is being held in the city after 23 years. Mr Raju said the industry has picked up and has been registering a healthy growth. A significant increase in the number of international travellers to India and a busy domestic travel had augured well for the industry, he explained.
Chairman of the organising committee D.V.S. Somaraju said Hyderabad became an attractive MICE destination (Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Exhibitions) and that is why it was chosen as the host for SIHRA Convention-2015.
Telangana Hotels’ Association president M.S. Nagaraju and Telangana State Hotels’ Association president S. Venkata Reddy thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for approving an order for hotels and restaurants (only those serve food) to be kept open till midnight. “All these years, the closing time was 10 p.m. We have been requesting the Chief Ministers to extend it and now it became a reality with Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao giving the nod,” they said, expressing their gratitude.
