A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, urging the central government to extend Hyderabad’s tenure as the common capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for an additional ten years.
The current deadline for Hyderabad’s status as the common capital is set to expire on June 2, 2024. Podili Anilkumar, the secretary of the ‘Praja Sankshema Seva Sangham’ from Krishna District, has filed the PIL requesting the centre to extend Hyderabad’s common capital status until June 2, 2034.
