Hyderabad city has been declared world green city by the international association of horticulture producers.
The Municipal Administration minister Mr KTR expressed happiness at the development and showered praises on HMDA officials.
The award was presented in South Korea. The minister said under the living green category, the greenery around the ORR got the award. It was another endorsement to the Haritha Haram programme prestigiously taken up by the chief minister Mr KCR.
The Telangana government took up a massive plantation programme as part of Haritha Haram and achieved considerable greenery across the state. The Pattana and Palle Pragathi turned the towns and villages neat and green over the years.
The chief minister Mr KCR through his initiatives inculcated some civic sense among people in villages which were changed for better after the formation of separate Telangana.
