A meeting of RR Dist chapter of Telangana Journalists Forum (TJF) evoked unprecendented response from the journalist fraternity in the district. About 1000 journalists working in different parts of the RR Dist attended the meeting held at Serilingampally on Wednesday.
Telangana JAC Chairman Prof Kodandaram, who attended the meeting as chief guest, applauded the Telangana journalists for playing a crucial role in the statehood movement.
TJF president Allam Narayana recounted the hardships faced by Telangana journalists from the Seemandhra managements. He also narrated how Telangana Journalist Forum has been in the forefront of statehood agitation. TJF members paid respects to journalist martyrs and also other martyrs for Telangana.
Veekshanam Editor N Venugopal stated that people of Telangana should be cautious about common capital and Polavaram issues mentioned in the CWC resolution.
Senior journalists Shailesh Reddy, K. Srinivas, TGO leader Srinivas Goud, TJF leaders Kranthi Kiran, Ramana Maramraj, Palle Ravi Kumar, Dr Sridhar and others spoke at the meeting.
During the meeting, TJF members expressed the opinion that their forum should be converted into a full-fledged journalists union, so that it can take care of the welfare of Telangana journalists.
