Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday directed the officials of Panchayat Raj to have a meticulous plan for execution of the state government’s prestigious Water Grid programme, which is intended to supply tap water to all households in next four years.
At a review at Secretariat on Wednesday, Rao suggested the officials to prepare plans for Water Grid with scientific approach. He along with the officials studied the district-wise maps to examine the existing water resources and the hillocks that will come in the way of executing Water Grid.
Rao said that the Krishna and Godavari waters would be diverted through gravity and lifts for the Water Grid.
He directed the officials to identify the contours in all mandals and come out with a book on the list of contours in the State.
As construction of intake wells would require lot of time, Rao directed the officials to prepare plans as early as possible.
