Telangana Government would disburse social security pensions under the ‘Asara’ (support) scheme from December 10 to 15, Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K T Rama Rao said on Monday.
Rao, who held a review on the scheme here, asked the District Collectors to release the first list of 25,68,392 beneficiaries immediately.
The pension amount for the months of October and November this year would be given together, an official release quoted him as saying.
Reminding the Collectors that the Government has not put any “ceiling” on pension beneficiaries, he told them that they should not trouble people in the name of technical problems and limitations”.
It has been decided to give pensions to all those who are certified to be eligible for receiving the benefit by the Collectors, Rao said.
The Minister, however, cautioned them that ineligible people should not find their way into the list of beneficiaries – senior citizens, widows and physically challenged.
Senior citizens and widows are entitled to get Rs 1,000 as pension per month, while the amount for the physically challenged is Rs 1,500.
