TRS demanded that the union government should announce a package of 4.5 Lakh Crore to Telangana state. The party, in its memorandum to GoM, stated that Telangana region has lost 4.5 Lakh Crores in last the 57 years, due to injustice in public expenditure, and indiscriminate of Telangana’s assets.
TRS Secretary General K. Keshava Rao announced the main issues in the TRS memorandum at a press conference yesterday. KK stated that Telangana lost heavily in the unified state, and should get a compensation package from the union government.
KK reminded that the Congress took the statehood decision only after all parties had accepted. He questioned the rationale behind calling another all-party meeting on this issue.
TRS demanded that Telangana state comprising of 10 districts and 119 assembly constituencies should be created immediately. Other important suggestions include:
– Seemandhra capital should be created as soon as possible
– Two states should have separate High Courts
– Telangana government should have complete control over Hyderabad, including law & order.
– All assets that belonged to Telangana prior to merger should automatically be given to Telangana
