For BRS, budget is for improving the living standard of people: Minister KTR

The Telangana government is spending more on both the capital expenditure and welfare of the people which no other state is doing, said Minister KT Rama Rao. Participating in a discussion in the Assembly, he said in the last seven years, the Chhattisgarh government has spent 15 per cent on capital expenditure while the Gujarat government has spent 16 per cent. The Telangana government has spent 26 per cent on capital expenditure creating massive infrastructure. It is also spending huge sums on the welfare of the people.

“For opposition parties, the budget meant only income and expenditure. For the BRS party, it is to improve the living standard of people,” Mr Rama Rao pointed out. Every village witnessed rapid development during the last nine years. One could see the huge harvesters roaring in the rural parts and steady mechanisation of farming. The small towns and cities too witnessed a massive transformation, he said.

Referring to CLP Leader Bhatti Vikaramarka’s comments that he was forced to secure water through tankers, Mr Rama Rao condemned the remarks. “The water metre at Bhatti Vikramarka’s residence had become defunct. Had he got it repaired on time, he too would have got free drinking water,” the minister explained.
