Greeting the people on the occasion of the 10th Telangana state formation day, Agricultural Minister Mr Niranjan Reddy said in the shortest time the state became the rice bowl of the country. He said that under the able leadership of visionary Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the newly formed Telangana state made significant development in all sectors.
Telangana was the only state that was procuring the entire paddy paying a minimum support price. It is the only state that is giving free power and Rythu Bandhu assistance to farmers in the country. These and many other initiatives transformed Telangana into a rice bowl where the paddy is cultivated in large extent than in any other state in the country. So far Rs 65,000 crore were disbursed towards Rythu Bandhu, he said.
The minister said soon the state government would release the Rythu Bandhu for the rainy season and then release the amount toward loan waiver to the farmers.
Mr Niranjan Reddy said farmers in other states were agitating and demanding their respective governments to implement the schemes being implemented by the Telangana government. “The country needs the leadership of KCR and it is the desire of all states,” he added.
