The decision on Telangana poll dates is expected after Election Commission team’s visit.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar met top officials of Election Commission of India in New Delhi on September 10, 2018. In the meeting, the status of preparations in the State for conducting elections and the ECI officials visit Telangana was discussed.
A decision on the poll dates will be taken after the official’s two-day visit to the state which will begin on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Telangana State Chief Secretary S K Joshi and Director General of Police P Mahender Reddy met on Monday to discuss the preparations for Tuesday’s visit by Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Singh and his team to the State.
In a press release CEO office said it has released the draft electoral rolls and people will have till September 25 to file any objections and claims.
The copies of the rolls have been put up at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant EROs, and they are also available on the website of the CEO at http://ceotelangana.nic.in
New voters, born before January 1, 2000, can seek inclusion into the rolls by submitting Form 6 while those seeking deletion of their names can submit Form 7. For correction of names, voters should submit Form 7 and for a change of address within an Assembly constituency, voters can submit Form 7A, it said.
All forms can be obtained from the offices of the EROs or Assistant EROs or can be downloaded from the CEO’s website, the press release said.
