Don’t get cheated by Congress: Karnataka farmers caution Telangana voters

The power crisis has reached the peak in Karnataka with farmer protests reaching neighbouring states. Farmers from Karnataka staged a protest in Gadwal cautioning voters of Telangana and farmers against the cheating of Congress.

The farmers alleged that they have been at the receiving end due to the electricity crisis in the state. They say that the crops are getting dried due to erratic power supply. Farmers from Kalyana Karnataka region protested in Gadwal saying that in previous regime farmers received electricity for 12 hours and now they are hardly getting 4 to 5 hours. They cautioned Telangana farmers to be wary of Congress and said not to get cheated.

Congress won the assembly elections in Karnataka by promising to supply 20 hours of power to farmers and 200 units of free electricity to domestic consumers. However, the state is reeling under severe power shortage not even six months after the Congress party coming to power.
