Designs are being readied for eight Medical colleges and14 Nursing colleges coming up in Telangana.

The state government has decided to set up eight medical colleges and 14 nursing colleges across the state. The designs for the buildings are underway.

The R&B minister V Prashanth Reddy and chief secretary Mr Somesh Kumar held a meeting with the architects and engineers. They reviewed the designs and suggested some alterations. The designs would be ready soon before presenting them to the chief minister Mr KCR for final approval.

The buildings would be built by the Roads & Buildings department of the Telangana government. New medical colleges are to come up at Sanga Reddy, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Manchiryala, Jagityala, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Ramagundam. The government also decided to set up a multi-specialty hospital at Warangal, four multi-specialty hospitals on four sides of Hyderabad city and an extension of NIMS. The 14 new nursing colleges will be coming across the state.

Minister Mr Prashanth Reddy said the ruling TRS government has decided to offer free corporate level medical services to the poor and hence large scale development of medical infrastructure was taken up.

 

Health secretary Rizvi, NIMS director Manohar, R&B engineer-in-chief Ganapathi Reddy and others took part in the meeting.
