A crucial meeting on Telangana statehood was held at Union Home Ministry in New Delhi today. Nine secretaries from various state government departments have attended the meeting.
Issues such as water resources distribution and assets and liabilities distribution have figured prominently in today’s meeting.
Sources say that the Home Ministry officials have asked the state government officials to come up with necessary information by 5th November. The officials indicate that they are taking every care to ensure both the states feel satisfied with the division.
The GoM meeting on 7th Nov would complete the process of distribution of assets and liabilities between the two states.
As of now, the plan is to send the draft bill to AP Assembly by Nov 20th. But the centre is also keeping the option open of going ahead on the statehood irrespective of the happenings in state assembly.
