The countdown for Telangana bill has begun. In 16 days, the statehood bill would come to the state assembly.
The meeting of Chief Secretaries of concerned departments today morning at 10:30 is the first official step in drafting the statehood bill.
In 16 days, all formalities on this bill would be completed and it would be sent to state assembly for its opinion.
The GoM would complete the last round of consultations with political parties in 12th and 13th November.
A package to Seemandhra might be finalized today in the meeting of Prime Minister with Seemandhra central ministers.
The bill would be called Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization Bill 2013.
Union Law Ministry would give a final shape to this bill between 18th and 20th of November.
On 21st, the Union cabinet would approve this bill and send it to President Pranab Mukherjee.
The President would then send it to state assembly for its opinion by 26th November.
The state assembly would be given 2-3 days to give its opinion on the statehood bill. If the state assembly fails to give its opinion within the set timeframe, the bill would be automatically referred to Parliament in the Winter session.
Sources in Union Home Ministry say that the bill would be tabled in Parliament around 9th December 2013.
