Congress selected Revanth Reddy as new CLP leader

The Congress party’s high command that held a series of meetings with various leaders of Telangana state has selected A Revanth Reddy as the new Congress Legislature Party leader. Party general secretary K C Venugopal announced this late on Tuesday night.

Earlier, Telangana leaders Batti Vikramarka and Uttam Kumar Reddy staked their claims for the post of Chief Minister. But the party leadership convinced them and they announced the decision in their presence with their consent.

The party leadership summoned Mr Revanth Reddy to New Delhi and he immediately rushed there.
Mr Venugopal said there would be no one-man show but there would be teamwork. The party will honour all the seniors suitably.

Mr Revanth Reddy will discuss the cabinet with the party’s high command and who would get what in the new cabinet. Mr Revanth Reddy is meeting a series of leaders and inviting Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge for the swearing-in ceremony to be held on Thursday in Hyderabad.

Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari and DGP Ravi Gupta were overseeing the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony to be held at LB stadium.
