Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today directed the officials to complete the Gouravelli reservoir project in the district in next two years.
The Gouravelli project, which can store up to 1.44 TMC water and irrigate 1.50 lakh acres of farmland, was launched in 2008. However, it is yet to be completed.
Rao was in Gouravelli village on the outskirts of Karimnagar district in Husnabad mandal limits, nearly 60 kms from here, this morning and held a review meeting with the officials at the Gouravelli reservoir project.
He also visited Gandipalli reservoir and Maha Samudram Gandi reservoirs near Husnabad town.
Addressing a public meeting at Maha Samudram Gandi, the Chief Minister said that, after the completion of the reservoirs, farmers in Husnabad constituency would get sufficient water for irrigation.
He appealed to the public representatives to prepare an action plan of each gram panchayat.
