Telangana chief minister and founder of Bharat Rashtra Party (BRS) has appointed popular farmers’ leader Manik Kadam as BRS Maharashtra Kisan cell president. Mr Manik has been espousing the cause of farmers for the last three decades. He strove to create awareness among the farmers and prevent farmers’ suicides. He fought for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.
Speaking to the media, Mr Manik thanked Mr KCR for reposing confidence in him and would continue to fight for the welfare of farmers and strengthen the BRS party in Maharashtra. He said soon he would organise a two-day training session for farmers at Shiridi explaining the welfare and development programmes being implemented by the Telangana government.
The recent visit of Mr KCR to Nanded has attracted many people in Maharashtra and his speech infused confidence among the farmers in Maharashtra state, Mr Manik said.
Meanwhile, scores of leaders in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh joined the BRS. In Telangana, the leaders of Congress, BJP, and BSP from Suryapet, Nizamabad, and Wanaparthy districts joined the BRS party.
