CM KCR announces names of three candidates for council under MLAs category

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao named Desapati Srinivas, Chall Venkatrami Reddy, and Kurmaiahgari Naveen Kumar for the ensuing Legislative Council elections under MLAs category.
Mr Rao asked them to file their nominations on March 9 and instructed minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy and MLC P Rajeswar Reddy to assist them in completing the formalities.
Two more council seats to be filled under the Governor’s quota would be announced after the state cabinet meeting scheduled on March 9.
Desapati Srinivas belongs to Munigadapa village, Gajwel constituency in Siddipet district. He played a key role in the separate Telangana movement. He is best known for his song and extempore speeches and is a great crowd puller. His patience and loyalty earned him the honour.
Belonging to Kukatpally, K Naveen Kumar hails from a family with a political background. His grandfather Ramachandra Rao was a minister.
Naveen Kumar was made MLC by KCR in 2019 under MLAs quota and as his term is expiring, he is renominated by the party chief.
Desapati Srinivas thanked the CM KCR and vowed to rededicate himself to the cause of Telangana and pledged to be with KCR in all his endevaours.
Challa Venkatram Reddy is the grandson of former President of India Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy.
He was MLA of Alampur. Last December, he joined the BRS party.
Challa Venkatarami Reddy said it was his fortune to be associated with a great leader and visionary Mr KCR.
