The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao enamored by the work of assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has allocated 66 acres of government land to Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Thimmapur in Banswada constituency.

A grand ritual of `Srinivasa Kalyanam’ was held at the temple after a recent renovation for which Mr KCR granted Rs 50 crores. MR KCR took part in the event with his wife. Having seen the development, Mr KCR said he was sanctioning another seven crore rupees for further development of the temple.

Showering praises of Mr Srinivas Reddy who earned a lot of public faith and possesses good knowledge about the rural economy, Mr KCR said he was impressed by the development works undertaken in Banswada and hence he was sanctioning Rs. 50 crores from the CM Special Development Fund. Mr Srinivasa Reddy would decide where to spend that amount and how it could be utilised for the best of the people of the constituency.

Mr KCR said irrigation in Telangana was disdained by the Andhra rulers in the integrated state and farmers were forced to live with their fate. Now, the Kaleshwaram project built after formation of Telangana state gave much confidence to the farmers. He said Nizamsagar project would never go dry. Now the farmers can happily rise two crops.
