Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao greeted people on the eve of 73rd Republic Day.
Eulogizing the uniqueness of the country, he said India is home to scores of languages, cultures, and different geographical areas. It is the biggest democratic country in the world and always manifested the very essence of democracy `Unity in Diversity.
The newly formed Telangana state is committed to the federal spirit of the country and never tried to mix politics with governance. Now the Telangana state stands as an ideal state to other states in the country. “We are committed to the federal spirit and urged people of Telangana to take a pledge to continue to do so,” he said.
Mr KCR said the greatness of democracy is that people chose their rulers and absolute sovereignty is the country’s aim.
Republic Day Celebrations have been held at Pragathi Bhavan with patriotic fervour and gaiety. Chief Minister Mr KCR has unfurled the national flag. The CM paid floral tributes to the photographs of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar. Several public representatives, Chief Secretary, DGP, CMO officials, and other government higher officials participated in the Republic Day Celebrations. Later at the Parade Grounds, at Army Memorial, CM KCR paid floral tributes to the martyred army personnel by lighting a lamp.
