Chicago, Telangana Universities Sign MoU

In a move that would have a telling effect on the education standards of students of the State, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha, on behalf of the Telangana University, Nizamabad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chicago State University for student exchange programmes between the two universities.

Kavitha was in the United States where she met and spoke to the Chicago University officials and students, apart from interacting with people from various other organisations. “As per the MoU, the two universities can now exchange their students, curriculum, professors and other educationrelated information,” said a release here on Thursday. Research scholars of Telangana University, who completed their first year in the State, can continue their second year in the Chicago State university.

Meanwhile, during her tour of the US, the Indian Consulate General in Chicago Dr Sayeed organised a party to the visiting MP. Addressing the people present at the function, Kavitha said that there was a congenial atmosphere for investments in the new State of Telangana and urged the Consulate General to encourage NRIs and other industrialists there to invest in Telangana.

Kavitha also visited the Entrepreneur Incubation Centre at the 1871 Trade Centre. She called for a similar centre be set up in Telangana too. The Nizamabad MP also visited the C Smart Energy Grid, a facility for storage and use of non-conventional energies such as solar, hydel, wind and natural gas in the best possible way.

Kavitha launched a Telangana Jagruthi mobile App through which Jagruthi activists abroad can connect with her directly.She launched the App during an interactive session with the TS NRIs organised by the US wing of Telangana Jagruthi.
