Centre fails to pay Rs. 2,433 crore GST funds to Telangana

With a view to hit Telangana state economically, the centre did not release Rs. 2,433 crores deliberately.
It had stated that if the GST growth rate is more than 15 percent, it would give total amount to the state.

Telangana achieved GST collection on par with bigger states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab and others but it did not get the GST share from the centre. It got Rs. 16,570 crores and Rs. 2,433 crores pending for the last three years was not released despite requests from Telangana state government.

The centre introduced GST on July 1 2017 and the payment of compensation ended on June 30, 2022. Though the states requested for an extension of five more years, it did not do so. The BJP government is discriminating against the Telangana government and trying to weaken it for its own political gains.
