Centre didn’t consider Telangana for medical colleges: Raghunandan agrees in Assembly

BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao from Dubbak has agreed in the legislative assembly that the union government didn’t consider Telangana for sanctioning of new medical colleges.

Speaking in the house, Rao said as Telangana already had 10 medical colleges, the union government didn’t sanction new medical colleges under its medical college for every district policy. He added that other states which had a few medical colleges were given priority to bring them to the level of Telangana.

Contrary to his statement, prior to the state formation, Telangana had only 5 medical colleges. After the formation of the state, Telangana built 12 new medical colleges and 9 more are under construction.

Raghunandan openly acknowledging the centre’s indifferent attitude towards Telangana has drawn flak. The legislator is being heavily criticized for his comments.
