Central Government declares Mission Bhagiratha the best in the country

The Telangana government has got another prestigious award – this time for the Mission Bhagiratha. A brainchild of chief minister Mr KCR, the programme envisages providing safe drinking water to every household in the state. It was successfully implemented in the state and now the urban development ministry of the central government declared it the best in the country.

Contrary to claims made by BJP leaders both at centre and in the state that it was their programme Har Ghar Jal, Yojana but indeed it was the CM Mr KCR who first conceived and launched the programme in Telangana. Similarly the centre blamed Telangana for not implementing Ayushman Bharathi, but Telangana got an award for its implementation as well proving the claims of BJP as false.

A central team has visited 320 villages conducting tests for quality of water, and interacted with people independently studying Mission Bhagiratha before declaring it as the best. The entire credit goes to CM KCR who bravely went ahead to deliver his promise and put it as one his government’s flagship programme.

The state government spent Rs 45,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha, set up 122 quality control labs, serving 54 lakh families and supplying 68 tmc of water. Each family in a village gets 100 litres of water, in town 135 litres and in cities 150 litres of water per day.

Panchayat Raj minister Mr Errabelli Dayakar Rao said the award will be presented by the President of India on October 2. The number of awards only proves the performance of Telangana government and the vision of CM KCR. These awards only increase their responsibility further.
