The latest state cabinet expansion by Kiran Kumar Reddy proved that Telangana continues to be sidelined by Seemandhra rulers. The CM has inducted two new ministers – both from Seemandhra region.
To add insult to injury, Shankar Rao, a dalit minister from Telangana region was unceremoniously removed from the state cabinet.
It should be reminded here that in the past 1 year, 3 Telangana ministers had tendered resignations for various reasons. Konda Surekha had resigned from the state cabinet as a protest against ‘ill treatment’ of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by the Congress party.
Jupalli Krishna Rao and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had resigned against the continued delay in formation of Telangana state.
WhileTelangana region has lost 4 ministries, the state government did not bother to replace these ministries with eligible Telangana MLAs. Instead, the Congress government went ahead and gave 2 more ministries to the Seemandhra region.
Ideally, Telangana region should have 18 ministers, but as a result of the continued injustice, it ended up having only 13 ministers.
This proves yet again that a separate state is the only solution to Telangana’s problems.
