Budget reflects discrimination on Telangana: TRS

TRS leader and MLA T Harish Rao has said that the state budget for year 2013-14 reflects the Seemandhra discrimination against Telangana.

Harish said that the state government records itself show that the Seemandhra region has 10 medical collages, while Telangana has only five.  Adding insult to injury, Harish showed how the state government allocated Rs 362 crore to Nellore medical collage, but only Rs. 160 crore to the medical collage in Nizamabad district.

While the Seemandhra region has 10 nursing colleges, Telangana has only one, which too is also in a very bad shape. With respect to regional medical training centres, Seemandhra has six, while Telangana has only two. In spite of  the union government telling the state government to relocate some of the centres, the state government has refused to implement the direction.

Harish warned that TRS would not keep quiet if the state government continues its apathy towards Telangana.
