BJP leaders confess to the Court they have no permission to padayatra

The BJP that moved the Court over the stoppage of padayatra by its state unit president Bandi Sanjay has told the Court that they have no permission from the police.

The Court sought to know from the BJP leaders how can they mobilise people to the padayatra that has no police permission. The Court said they would not interfere in the padayatra stoppage issue as it had no permission.

BJP leader Bangaru Sruthi moved the Court. Another leader and advocate N Ramchander Rao said it was for the people Sanjay has undertaken Praja Sangrama Yatra, justice K Lalitha posed serious questions about the permission.

Mr Ramchander Rao said they had oral permission but not written permission from the DGP. They have submitted the petition but did not get permission in writing.

On behalf of the government, advocate Srikanth Reddy apprised the Court that the said Padayatra posed threat to law and order and incited people through his speeches. As many as 15 cases were registered against him in various police stations. The provocative speeches were leading to clashes among the cadre and general public. Hence, Court may please strike off the petition of the BJP.

Advocate Srikanth Reddy further apprised that after studying the issue from all angles, the police attached to Wardhannapet police station refused to allow the padayatra to continue. The police gave their refusal in writing to the BJP leaders.

The Court ordered the government pleader to submit the video of Sanjay’s provocative speeches and adjourned the hearing to Thursday.

The BJP leaders blatantly lied to the public that they have permission from the police and resorted to hooliganism.
