BJP dividing and instigating tribals, Minister Satyavathi Rathod.

The BJP is not going to gain anything in the next elections and the leaders should stop their drama, said Tribal welfare minister Ms Satyavathi Rathod.

Accusing the BJP leaders of dividing the Tribals and instigating them against the ruling party government in the state, she said in all the 12 ST Assembly constituencies, the BJP will not get deposit in elections.

Talking to media persons, Ms Satyavathi Rathod, MLA Haripriya Naik, MP M Kavitha and Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman and MLC P Rajeswar Reddy said the BJP leaders were trying to divide people on all counts and are now focusing on instigating the tribals on Podu land issue. The chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao had already promised to sort out the issue and soon the tribals would get passbooks for the lands they are cultivating for decades.

The BJP government at centre failed to honour the promises made in the state bifurcation Act. The State government has allocated 350 acres of land at Jakaram near Mulugu for the tribal university and agreed to give buildings of tribal welfare department temporarily. But the Centre did not respond so far.

Similarly, the tribals have been asking the Centre to accord national festival status to historic Sammakka Sarakka jatara but in vain.

Ms Satyavathi Rathod and others pointed out that the BJP remembers tribals and minorities or others only during election season. After elections, they are cared least.

The State BJP leaders should first strive to help the tribals here fulfilling their aspirations influencing the central government. “Why did BJP do to tribals to seek their votes,” they sought to know.
