Flagging off 40 new automated garbage picking autos, the Municipal Administration minister Mr KTR said the government has adopted the best practices in tackling sanitation in the city.
In 2014 the garbage collected was 2500 metric tonnes but now it is 6000 tonnes now. In addition to the existing 4500 auto tippers, more will be added to collect garbage in all 150 divisions in GHMC limits.
Mr Rama Rao said efforts are being made to set up more sewerage treatment plants and improve sanitation in the city to make it a global city.
