Akula Bhoomaiah, President of Telangana Praja Front, died in a road accident at Vidyanagar yesterday night. He was returning home from a book launch program held at Basheerbagh Press Club. A municipality tipper hit the scooter on which Bhoomaih was traveling at about 9:45 yesterday night.
Telangana activists, friends and family members of Bhoomaiah reached the accident spot in large numbers.
TPF Vice President Ved Kumar expressed severe shock at the demise of Bhoomaiah. He also demanded a thorough enquiry into the accident.

Akula Bhoomaiah retired as a government teacher a few years back. He had lead Teachers unions like APTF and DTF.
TNGO leader Deviprasad, Manda Krishna, New Democracy Goverdhan and several Telangana leaders and activists rushed to the accident spot.
Several Telangana leaders expressed doubts over the accident and demanded thorough inquiry.
Bhoomaiah’s body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. The body will be placed at Gun Park today morning and then would be taken to his native village.
