A red alert of more rains was issued in nine districts of Telangana.

 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad issued a red alert to nine districts warning there would be very heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rain is likely on Saturday in Asifabad, Manchiryal, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts.
The rains that began on Friday night continued till Saturday. The highest rainfall of 20 cm was recorded at Atmakur S and 10 to 20 cm in Khammam, Suryapet, and Kothagudem districts. With this, all the rivulets were overflowing with rain water. It also led to the inundation of low-lying areas in many districts and people had difficulty dealing with the harsh weather.
The district administrations were instructed to gear up to meet any exigency such as relief and rehabilitation of people and properties in affected areas. People were asked to stay indoors and not to venture out risking their lives in view of warnings by the IMD.
Several people were trying to visit the waterfalls in their respective places for fun. Officials have been warning them not to do so but in vain.
Not only in nine districts, but all other districts too will witness heavy rains if not very heavy. Hence people should be cautious, and the government also warned.
