With the enhancement of income limit to Rs 2 lakh in urban areas and Rs 1.50 lakh in rural areas for eligibility to avail welfare schemes in the state, the number of eligible families for Deepam domestic gas connection has estimated at 48 lakh.
“This year, the state government will give Deepam connections to 6.25 lakh families and next year’s target is 3.5 lakh. We will give Deepam connections to all very soon,” energy minister G Jagadish Reddy replied to a question during Question Hour in the Assembly on Monday.
Jagadish Reddy said the government sanctioned 6.25 lakh LPG connections under Deepam scheme for 2014-15. Of those, 50,000 were sanctioned in Adilabad, 75,000 in Hyderabad, 95,000 in Karimnagar, 50,000 in Khammam, 70,000 in Mahbubnagar, 50,000 in Medak, 60,000 in Nalgonda, 45,000 in Nizamabad, 70,000 in Rangareddy and 60,000 in Warangal districts.
Godowns: Marketing minister T Harish Rao told V Srinivas Goud (TRS) and others that Rs 1,024.5 crore was provided, under 95 pc loan from NABARD, for construction of godowns with a storage capacity of 17 lakh tonnes in the state. Construction of 350 new godowns will be completed by May next.
Age Limit: Deputy chief minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali told Akbaruddin Owaisi (MIM) and others that increasing the age limit for minority community students of Intermediate, degree and PG courses to avail post-matric scholarship and fee reimbursement will be considered by chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Ali said Rs 35.7 crore had been released for fee reimbursement and maintenance fee for minorities and Rs 11.82 spent so far in 2014-15.
Endowments minister A Indrakaran Reddy informed Vemula Prasanth Reddy (TRS) and others that the government would hold a meeting on October 8 to discuss the arrangements for next year’s Krishna Pushkarams. The Pushkarams will be conducted at 37 villages in Mahbubnagar district and 11 in Nalgonda. Huge turnout of pilgrims is expected on account of these villages.
