1 crore eligible families in Telangana to get houses or house sites soon: KTR

The state government has decided to allot houses or house sites to one crore eligible families in the state. A cabinet sub-committee constituted for the purpose held a meeting under his chairmanship at BRK Bhavan on Monday. Members – T Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy, P Ajay Kumar, and Srinivas Goud attended the meeting.

The committee discussed the issues such as GO 58, 59, sada bainama, notary documents, endowment, and wakf lands among others. Mr Rama Rao said the state government was committed to allotting houses or house sites to all the eligible families that are below the poverty line. He said in 2014, the government issued pattas to 1.25 lakh families.

Presently, as per GO 58, the verification process for handing over 20,685 houses was completed. Referring to the notary documents in towns and cities, the committee asked the officials to come up with a sound plan to sort out the issue. They were also asked to solve the issues at the earliest and adopt a people-friendly plan.

Chief secretary Santhi Kumari, bureaucrats Rajat Kumar, Rama Krishna Rao, Aravind Kumar and others were present.
