TG Venkatesh is literally poisoning the Telangana region. No, we are not referring to his poisonous words. It is the pollution caused by his factory that is poisoning several villages in Mahabubnagar district.

The health and lives of about 25,000 people living in and around Alampur in Mahabubnagar district are severaly threatened by the poisonous chemicals emanating from state minister TG. Venkatesh’s factory.

Sree Rayalaseema Alkalies & Allied Chemicals, belonging to TG Venkatesh, has been dumping toxic wastes directly into Tungabhadra River.

Several villages in Mahabubnagar district depend on Tungabhadra river for drinking water. The water in the river and wells in the region has started smelling of chemicals from past several months.

When media brought this to the attention of the district collector Girija Shankar, he immediately ordered for testing of water samples from the drinking water in these villages.

The test results revealed a shocking truth. The water samples contained a very high quantity of harmful Chlorides and Sulphates. The quantity of Total Dissolved Salts (TDS) was also much higher than the permissible limits.

The impact of the factory’s pollution can be understaood by the fact that that even grass is dying when irrigated with this water.

District collector has informed the pollution control board officials and also the Kurnool district collector to initiate action on TG Venkatesh’s factory for flouting all rules and endangering the lives of people.
