Minister KTR extended financial assistance to a tribal Handball player and a student, who got admission to IIT, Guwahati.
Madavi Kareena is a Handball Player and a native of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. She participated in various State Level Tournaments and bagged medals.
Madavi received an invitation to participate in Asian Youth Women Handball Championship, to be held from 18th March 2022 in Kazakhstan.
She belongs to Scheduled Tribe (ST) community and has studied in TS Residential Tribal Welfare Institution at Asifabad. Her parents are daily wage agricultural workers.
Due to her financial condition, Madavi could not arrange for funds to bear the travel, visa, and other expenses.
Coming to know of her plight through Twitter, Minister KTR came forward and provided requisite financial support to her. She will now take part in the International Handball Tournament to be held in Kazakhstan.
Minister KTR also helped Sankuru Manideep, a student from Amberpet, Hyderabad. Manideep has secured 98.6% in Intermediate and appeared for JEE-Advanced and got 799 rank. He got admission for B.Tech (ECE) in IIT, Guwahati, Assam.
Manideep’s father is a daily wage worker, and his mother is a housewife. While Manideep paid Rs.35,000/- for seat allotment and admission fee, by taking debt from a known person, he is yet to pay other fees including accommodation, mess, and library fees.
He was facing trouble attending online classes via mobile phone and had requested a laptop. Minister KTR provided required financial assistance for his education and also a laptop.
Both the youngsters expressed happiness over receiving support from the Minister. They promised Minister KTR that they will succeed in their respective careers and also look after their parents, apart from giving back to society in some or the other form.
The Minister wished all the best to Madavi and Manideep.
