Telangana Joint Action Committee on Saturday denied that it was adopting different yardsticks for Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu or YS Jaganmohan Reddy who are from the Seemandhra region.
Every one of them had done their bit to stall the process of carving a separate T state and unless all of them support the cause, there will be no change in our opposition towards these leaders, Prof Kodandaram said on Saturday.
This statement assumes importance in the wake of statements being made by the YSR Congress that there would be no opposition to the tour of YS Jaganmohan Reddy in T region which would be launched from Tuesday.
Jaganmohan is slated to hold a deekhsa in support of farmers at Armoor in Nizamabad district. The TDP, on the other hand, has been alleging that the TRS was targeting them while it had said that it will not obstruct Jagan.
The latest statement by Kodandaram raises the question on whether Jagan’s programme too would invite protests similar to what Naidu had witnessed during his Warangal tour on Friday. According to Prof Kodandaram, unless Seemandhra leaders make their stand clear on Telangana, they were bound to face protests and more criticism from the public and the same applies even to YSRCP chief.
The JAC leaders in Nizamabad district were gearing up to express their protests in front of Jagan to spell out his stance on separate statehood,” he added. This stand of JAC is notwithstanding the decision of YSRCP not to contest the by-polls in Telangana. “There is no way he would be accorded a red carpet welcome for his neutral stand on T.
