TRS Set to Stall Assembly Proceedings

The Winter Session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly, beginning from December 1, is likely to be stormy as the TRS, which is the most vocal votary of separate Telangana state, is set to corner the government taking a cue from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati who announced splitting of that state.

“Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is supporting division of Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, the two major parties — Congress and Telugu Desam — should unequivocally support the Telangana cause as per their promise….100 per cent, we will obstruct the house in support of our demand,” TRS MLA and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son K T Rama Rao told reporters here.

He also said the party would support a no-confidence motion proposed to be moved against the Congress government by the main opposition Telugu Desam.

Rama Rao, however, claimed that TDP is not sincere in moving the no-trust vote against the government.

The TDP was only issuing threats to the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government as its president N Chandrababu Naidu is facing an inquiry as per the High Court order over a petition filed by YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi, he said. [PTI]
