Trade bodies and industries operating in the city have hailed the Congress government’s decision to bifurcate the states.
“I am happy that a decision has been taken finally to end the uncertainty and ambiguity in the region. Now, we need to think about the future. The future is bright for both the regions. We need to develop a framework for both the regions after proper and judicial allocation of assets and liabilities. It needs to be a win-win situation post bifurcation,” said Sangita Reddy, chairperson, Andhra Pradesh State Council, FICCI, and executive director of Apollo Hospitals Group.
She said that growth of economy in both regions is important. History of smaller states implies that growth rate is faster. “However, the most important aspect of corporate India in this region — expecting to have a stability, progress and good governance,” she said.
Stating that ‘Brand Hyderabad’ has a tremendous global potential, Dr Hari Prasad, CEO, Apollo Hospitals Group said, Hyderabad can soon become a favoured global hub for the service industry in general and health industry in particular.
“Clarity, stability and focus are critical for any community. This region has suffered from dilution of these critical components over the last few years and this has not been of help to any sector. With a decision being finally taken, stability and focus will return and this will help the region on all fronts,” he said.
