Think judiciously before casting your votes: CM KCR in Suryapet

Chief Minister Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao has urged people to be cautious and in full consciousness while voting in the ensuing Assembly elections. “This is election time, the BJP and Congress leaders are out into the villages luring voters. They are selling futile dreams and making impractical promises,” CM KCR said.

“You know what the Congress did to the people in the past. You know what the BJP is doing in other states. They are not new to us,” Mr KCR reminded the cheering crowds. KCR was addressing a massive public meeting at Suryapet this afternoon.

KCR said that it took a lot of hard work and patience for the BRS to undo the wrongdoings of the Congress party here in Telangana. There is no electricity, no drinking and irrigation water. People in this district endured fluoride problems at the cost of their lives. There was no hope and utter despair prevailed everywhere.

“After having taken up the cause of separate Telangana and assuming power subsequently, the BRS party tackled all the issues one by one. Be it drinking and irrigation water, welfare programmes such as pensions, financial assistance to farmers and so on and so forth,” he said.

The Kaleshwaram Project helped turn otherwise parched and barren land into lush green and fertile now. The waters from the project reach a remote hamlet in Suryapet located over 450 kilometres from the project. Now the Congress leaders want to undo all the good deeds done by the BRS party. People should think for a while. “Why was the Dharani brought into place? It was aimed at giving the power on land to the original owner or farmers. It removed all the hassles – middlemen, corruption and red-tapism. Do you agree? Should it be removed or continued?” Mr KCR sought to know from the crowds who said yes in unison.

CM said now that Telangana stands top of the country on all parameters – be it Per Capita Income or Per Capita consumption of power. And every other world standard index in all sectors. But this BRS government does not think everything is achieved. A lot more needs to be done and for that, it needs people’s support. “You all should ensure a thumping victory to BRS and elect all the 12 MLA candidates in this erstwhile Nalgonda district,” he said.

Earlier, Mr KCR inaugurated the Integrated District Office Complex, District Police Office, new medical college buildings and an integrated vegetable and meat market. He announced financial assistance to all the Gram Panchayat and municipalities. He also agreed to sanction funds for a sports stadium and cultural complex in Suryapet district.

Energy minister G Jagadeeswar Reddy welcomed the CM and put forward some demands pertaining to the stadium, cultural complex and roads in the newly merged colonies of municipalities. Agricultural minister S Niranjan Reddy, Roads & Buildings minister V Prashanth Reddy, Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari and several others were present.
