The row over budget with Governor ends

The Governor will be addressing the joint session of the Assembly and Council before the presentation of the Telangana budget. The row between the state government and Governor ended amicably as the state government agreed to her demand that there should be her address before she clears the budget for the year.

Earlier in the day, she refused to clear the budget seeking to if there was her speech in the session. The state government remained silent over the issue and moved the High Court. The High Court refused to be drawn into the controversy and convened a meeting between the advocates of both parties.

It convinced them to go by the conventions rather than being at loggerheads over the issue. Later in the evening, minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy met Governor Tamilisai and formally invited her thus ending the stalemate.

The Telangana state Assembly budget session would begin on February 3 and within a week, the budget is likely to be presented.
