Telangana witnesses increased consciousness of greenery among people

The BRS government that launched the Palle Prakruthi Vanam and Pattana Prakruthi Vanam projects has been receiving tremendous patronage from the people. Now it also came up with the Brihat Palle Prakruthi Vanam (BPV) concept that envisages growing a thick forest in an area of five to ten acres in every mandal all over the state.

Of the targeted 2,725 BPVs in all mandals, so far 1,799 were completed and the rest are in various stages of completion. The government is adopting the Japanese concept of Miyawaki which envisages planting more trees in less area.

The works on BPVs in Bhupalpally, Mahabubnagar and Mulugu districts are completed totally. The Palle Prakruthi Vanams were developed in 19,472 villages to date. In its effort to increase the green cover, the BRS government turned 13,657 acres of land into a lush green area by spending Rs 250 crores.
