Telangana to get Rs 60,000 cr Nabard loan

Telangana will receive close to Rs 60,000 crore as loan from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) to invest in priority sectors in the financial year 2016-17. Nabard on Tuesday released its annual credit plan for Telangana with an estimated fund requirement for priority sectors at Rs 59, 831 crore.

At a state-level annual credit conference of Nabard here, Satyanarayana, chief general manager of Nabard, said that the credit plan was focusing on inclusive growth of agriculture sector, especially in view of the state suffering from drought for two successive years. Small and marginal farmers will be the main beneficiaries of the credit plan.

The credit outlay of Rs 59,831 crore is 20 percent higher than the plan for 2015-16.
