The new industrial policy of Telangana will be in place within two days. This will be the world’s best industrial policy, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
A delegation led by Piramal group chairman Ajay Piramal called on the chief minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday. He told the delegation that the new industrial policy would be finalised within next one or two days.
KCR said that the government’s industrial policy would be implemented in its letter and spirit. An industrialist will need just to download application from the website, fill it up and apply for an industry. A chasing cell in the CMO would monitor the progress of investments to be made by industrialists from India and abroad. There would be zero corruption in the new state, he assured.
He said his government would identify land, declare that land exclusively for industrial purpose, develop it in all aspects, provide power and water, and place it at the disposal of industrialists.
The chief minister said that right now about two lakh acres of land was available for establishment of industries and would be vested with the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).
KCR offered Piramal required facilities and appealed to him to establish industries of their choice in Telangana. He told Piramal to make use of the proposed pharma city in and around Telangana where we could have industry and residential colony for the employees all at one place.
On the issue of power shortage, he admitted to shortage but said that 2,350 MW of additional thermal power would be added to the 4,000 MW available now by next year. In addition, the mandatory power of 4,000 MW from the NTPC project dedicated to Telangana would be set up soon. “Telangana will be a power surplus state in the next three years.
Within the next three to four months, Telangana will be the most happening state in the country for investment and other aspects,” Rao told the visiting delegation.
SURVEY OF HOUSEHOLDS: Government’s intention to conduct a comprehensive survey, he said that the biggest problem with any government was non-availability of statistics. To overcome this the government discussed thoroughly and developed a format to conduct a survey and collect data pertaining to all the 84 lakh households. This gigantic task would be carried out on a single day, he said.
