Telangana startup ecosystem is peerless

With over 6,500 startups in about 50 different fields and nurturing the first space startup, Telangana has become the sought-after destination for startups. Inaugurating The Industry Entrepreneurs (TiE) global summit in Hyderabad, IT minister KT Rama Rao said the newly born Telangana state made significant strides on various fronts.

It is the 11th largest state in the country geographically, and the 12th largest in terms of population but it is the fourth largest contributor to the country’s GDP. “It is like a 50 kg boxer fighting in the 100 kg category,” he explained.

The per capita income witnessed a growth of 130 percent, IT exports by 250 percent and GRDP by 130 percent, agricultural activities by 190 percent, and greenery by 24 percent in the last eight years in Telangana, the minister said.

Adobe Systems chairman Shantanu Narayen speaking on the occasion said he felt happy coming to his native city. He said he grew up and studied in Hyderabad city. It was happy to see the most happening city under the dynamic leadership of KTR and visionary chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He lauded the T-Hub efforts in nurturing young entrepreneurs.
